The Saturday after First Friday, Gerald and I enjoyed a photostroll in downtown Macon.
Have to tell you: although not terribly long — 90 minutes, give or take — I enjoyed both revisiting downtown Macon in fall spendor and spending some photography time with a good friend. Thanks, Gerald.
Some decent results, too. My favorite:
Fall Line-Up

Been a busy couple of weeks, but want to begin to catch up on some back photography posts.
…Starting with November’s First Friday. To do that, I’ve got to thank a few folks:
Doug’s Ballroom Art Show
The old Library Ballroom is an amazing space. Doug’s art is worthy — and he’s a good friend. Well done, man.
A [...]

…was a great deal of fun — it was great to see some folks I haven’t in a while.
At Creighton and Carolyn’s, no less — a Cocktail Hour homecoming, of sorts. So:
Stop and Let Me Tell You….
Haven’t blogged for a while; been chained to the desk for weeks. Nice to have the opportunity to reconnect [...]

Okay, let’s get this out of the way up front: I haven’t been posting — or photographing — enough recently.
But, there’s a good reason, one regular readers of this site know — equipment that’s not up to snuff. So some changes have been in order.
As of yesterday, those changes are nearly complete.
It’s meant selling my [...]

…are not only wonderful people, they, together with Martha Kelly — Trish’s amazing Mom — hosted this week’s Cocktail Hour. As expected, it was fantastic.
The happy couple:

Couldn’t stay the duration, alas, and can only look at a few of the photographs from tonight before getting back to work — [...]

Warning: A long, rambling, and — perhaps — nonsensical post. I don’t do as much personal stuff here as I used to at the old web site and blog, so … well, forgive. Read on.
Dan, Doug, and various other friends in crowds — and bands — I love, please bear with me. Going downtown [...]

…was hosted by Gerald and Autumn right here in Ingelside. Heck yeah, I went:
Autumn’s Glass
Both the hosts were manning cameras at various points through the evening, plus Doug messing about with one of Gerald’s cameras, so by and large, I didn’t. A few shots were irresistible, however — forgive:
Doug’s (Canon) Shot
Only 10 photographs posted, but [...]

As my blog readers know, I’ve been having some equipment problems recently. For Independence Day, however, my camera raised a flag and celebrated the long-overdue Unity — out of 446 photographs Friday (taken in about three hours of straight shooting), I kept 309, starred 185, and multi-starred 90. Remarkable. More: The first four-star images in, [...]

This week’s Cocktail Hour was hosted by Heather Braun, at her new place in the Baconsfield area of Macon. Heather has a wonderful home, that she — deservedly — was delighted to show off:

As usual, it was a great time:
Carmen, Enjoying (the Neighborhood)
Carmen purchased Gerald’s house on Laurel — where [...]

Macon hasn’t had a Cocktail Hour for a few weeks, hardly unusual around the end of the school year. So it was not a surprise to see so many good folks at last night’s event, hosted by Elizabeth and John.
Including a fantastic-looking woman — who just happens to be John’s mother — toting a pretty [...]

…this weekend — indeed, this entire past week-plus — was spent on a photostroll with Gerald and Phillip Saturday, the 31st, testing out my Nikon D300 with various lenses. A great excuse to wander around Middle Georgia, we all agreed.
Gordon’s Grin
Despite its obviously-advanced technical qualities, integrating the D300 into my “everyday-use” schedule has been, well [...]

Only a few weeks ago, Gerald and I went wandering around the MSC campus on a photostroll, enjoying what was a beautiful day on frankly beautiful grounds. Some folks obviously spent a great deal of time caring, and I even said as much to a groundskeeper we bumped into.
What a difference a couple of weeks [...]

Pre-dawn on Mother’s Day, I was blissfully asleep in Bradenton, Florida. Here in Macon, havoc struck. In several different neighborhoods around Bibb County, homes, businesses, schools, and lives suffered.
No one in Macon was killed. We were more than fortunate.
Nature was less kind to the foliage:
Stripped Tree
Despite the proximity to serious damage, my house — and [...]

Put up a single photograph from this past weekend’s trip to Florida:
Sunset Water for New Plantings
Upon arriving home, I was shocked at the level of destruction less than two miles from my house — and feel the need to use the (very little) spare time I have this week to photograph that — and help [...]

Photographed a Kentucky Derby Party for friends Pam and Dick Thomasson tonight. As expected — and as usual with the good folks in Macon — it was a great time. Thanks, Pam, for the invite.

…at Jay and Fernando’s was, as always, a great time. Many thanks to both gentlemen for hosting!
I’ve posted a brief gallery, but need to note: I was breaking in a new camera tonight, and thus was experimenting more than usual — resulting in a lower-than-usual “keeper” count. Forgive.
Couple of shots I really like, though, which [...]

…a new gallery of photographs! This time from Riverside Cemetery here in Macon, taken on a [another —Ed.] photostroll with Gerald:
Valentine’s Memorial
And,
Point Taken
Yeah, there’s some depth to those titles — it’s about the ex, Valentine’s Day, and a cemetery (long story). But it was still a good shoot, and I’m excited about uploading the rest, [...]

Keeping in mind that I completely skipped Cherry Blossom, a collection of photographs taken in April, 2008. Including this one:
All Signs Point to Tucker’s
And this one:
Alley Behind Capricorn
…next door to the just-announced ($29-million!) Capricorn Center.
Also updated a couple of miscellaneous galleries, including the Automotive one:
GTI in Sunset Light (at Tucker’s Bar-B-Q)
I love my car! (Just [...]

Especially love this photo of Trish:
