1. An interesting review of perhaps the most interesting new camera in a while (for me, at least): the Sigma DP-1, at Luminous Landscape. Bottom line: great RAW photos from a compact yet deeply flawed camera. Hmmmm — great photos with flawed hardware. Sounds like their lenses, too…;)
2. Thoughts on how Flickr’s 90-second videos, called long photographs, should perhaps be something, uh, slighly different:
A loop would be a captured action or situation rather than a narrative, where the duration of the loop is set but the loop goes on forever so you can study the layers, the detail, the figure and the ground in the same way you can a photo.
