A Slightly Different Focus

I embarked on “some work on the house” about seven months ago now. Somewhere in there, it turned into a major remodel.
We started around the first of October, with a tight schedule aiming for Thanksgiving. Within a couple of weeks, we were hoping for the New Year. Then January, then February. Things were mostly done [...]

As the saying goes, it’s the “year we make contact.” Perhaps not with those from otherworldly places, but for me, it’s definitely the year I make contact … with my refurbished home.

I’m grateful that the huge project that has been my home remodeling is drawing closer and closer to the finish line, and I’m grateful for the attention and support from folks near and far.

Let me please lead off with an — or, should I say, another — apology for taking so long. Since getting home from Maine, absolutely nothing has gone according to plan.
Well, in reality since long before that … but that’s another story. (Which I might even share someday…;)

Well, I have to admit to a huge mistake: stacking too many things, too close together.
Less than a week from my return from Maine, the work on my home began. That meant that before I could even unpack from the trip, I was packing … the house. It’s turned in a very big deal indeed.

Cocktail Hour marked its return from the summer hiatus this past Thursday, and I was there with a camera. It was nice to see folks, including hosts Gerald and Autumn, also marking a return — this time, from their trip to England.
Gerald was also using the occasion to start the celebration of his 40th birthday, [...]

Thursday means Cocktail Hour, which means that since I was able to go — not always a given — I was out and about with the camera. Heh.
Tonight’s Hour, hosted by Thad and Rebecca, was in their home, beautifully decorated for the holidays. (“I spend a little time every day,” Rebecca says.)
