Miles’ Birthday Party
Note: Been offline for a while; besieged with computer hard-drive problems and complications regarding the house work. Worse, I’ve written — and lost — the Snapshots post twice now, with a third, partially-completed attempt currently saved as a draft. Will try to get back to before the holiday weekend, but in any case, Happy Independence Day.
Enjoyed some camera time with Miles, Trish, and many of the usual Magnolia suspects this past Saturday, June 27th — no, in fact, I should say enjoyed the friend time and food time very much, and the camera time was more of a bonus. I always appreciate being able to bring a camera along to a personal event like this.
Of course, sometimes I wind up in a slightly awkward space: being without a photograph of the birthday boy. Sorry, Miles, although you’re in a couple, the “never embarrass” rule would apply here…;)
My favorite shots are, typically perhaps [LOL, yes —Ed.], of the kids. Julian loved the water on this humid afternoon:

Meanwhile, check out the “look” from Noah here:

Noah, as a Preschooler
A great glimpse, if you will, of the boy that’s soon to replace the toddler. The next photo in the slideshow reminds us, however, that he’s still a baby, mashing one of those big chalks into his eye.
That’s right, I said slideshow. Check it out (Flash required):
Mouse over it for options once it’s playing, including — right here, without having to click through — a full-screen option, in the lower-right corner. If you’d like to purchase any of the photographs, use the “visit gallery” link in the upper right, then proceed as before.
Hope you enjoy. (In case you’re not — your browser doesn’t work with the above, you’ve blocked Flash, whatever — please check out all twenty-five photographs here. Thanks.)
Speaking of enjoying, hope it’s a great Fourth of July weekend for you and yours. I’m out of town, hiking one of my favorite sections of the country: the Pisgah Mountains, in North Carolina. Photographs from that — and more — soon. As always, thank you for stopping by.
Great photo set. Only problem, the ‘bird’ Connor is playing with is a flamingo, not a pelican.

Calvin, you’re correct (as usual). Thanks for pointing out the error.
Jamie, it’s great to hear from you! All the best.

Giles,
Thank you for always telling the most amazing stories with each brilliant photograph you take. You have a fantastic eye but best of all a beautiful heart! With Love!
