First Friday, May 2009
One of those “interesting” days; had planned on visiting some Macon gardens today, but spent the “business” day, well, working.
Thus, it was a pleasure to escape downtown tonight for First Friday.
Starting with the discovery of some folks doing book design — right here in Macon:

burt&burt art+design
Then on to the Arts Exchange, where I ran into an adorable little girl, who had, of all things, a tray of cucumber sandwiches — making her my “official:”

Arts Exchange Kid #1
After more than a few hugs and good wishes amongst friends [the Arts Exchange is familiar, and as typical of the Macon arts scene, friendly territory —Ed.], I enjoyed dinner … with some music:

Jazz Notes, Live on Cherry Street
Heading further downtown, I ran into a very interesting artist — whose work is probably better than the song I can’t seem to get out of my head:

Art at Night, with Sunglasses
Last but certainly not least, the original reason for being out and about tonight: Neo Kat’s last First Friday. Many thanks to the Tic Toc Room, and of course the Neo Kats themselves, for a great time; I’m sorry it can’t continue indefinitely, as this, the second-to-the-last-performance, suggests it should:

Neo Kats, Jamming
I’ve not ever seen the Tic Toc so packed with people on a First Friday, all of them enjoying themselves. Fantastic.
The preview post, and the eventual gallery from tonight’s photography, are — will be — here. Thanks for checking back. Also, great Macon gardens tomorrow or Sunday, and a Derby party tomorrow. Nice weekend…!
Please note: This First Friday dedicated to my good friends Miles and Trish, whom I saw unexpectedly — and all too briefly — tonight. M&T, my thoughts are with you.
