Cocktails, a Cute Smile, and an Interesting Quote

Enjoyed Cocktail Hour this evening at Kim Wold’s. As my “official” Cocktail Hour postings go, it’s the second in a row for her — but there have been three in the interim that I have not been able to get to.

Sorry.

Meanwhile, many thanks to Kim for hosting. (Again.)

And a familiar-yet-still-cute boy, who tonight, was driving … a porch railing:

Connor’s Cute Expression (#137)

It’s not actually the hundred and thirty-seventh time I’ve caught something like this — it’s just that I’ve lost count, and the number seemed about right. Plus, Kim’s girls were at the baby-sitter’s, so Connor wound up in the spotlight. (Which you have to admit, he enjoys.)

Something else caught my eye tonight, however. Tattoos aren’t usually an item I’m interested in, but, unusually, this one’s a phrase rather than art:

Everything was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt

From Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-5, a book that I’ve been meaning to read for years.

A quote that will be with me for a while (Kim, too, probably — it’s her neck…;)

If I may say: if only!

Many thanks to Kim, and indeed everyone, for an interesting evening — and the push towards something long-neglected.

Only took about 30 photographs tonight; be glad that eight of ‘em turned out, which are posted here. Thanks for looking.

Tomorrow: Another long-overdue item, this time on book design. This weekend: a Kentucky Derby party, and some Macon gardens. Looking forward to all!
