Easter Tapas — and Fun
Enjoyed Easter weekend with Dan and Monica and selected portions of the Magnolia Street Mob. What a fun group of folks.
The theme was Tapas, with a huge selection of little stuff instead of one huge ham (Connor notwithstanding…;)
Speaking of whom: here he is, looking especially pleased with the just-consumed chocolate kiss:

Unlike Connor, Julian is not particularly fond of being in front of the camera. Thus, happy to have scored this nice shot:

A blast from my childhood appeared in the form of cucumber sandwiches. My grandmother used to make these; I’ve always adored them, and absolutely delight when they appear on someone’s table. Here, they’re updated with whole-grains, capers, a touch of Easter piggy and some garlic aioli:

Have to give one more shout out — to the best almost-meatballs ever:

Monica made these amazing items … that didn’t quite hold shape, and thus were more and more spoon territory as the evening went on. The real story, though, is in the leftovers. Several days later, a cup or so of this, a few fresh vadalia greens, and some pasta combined into nirvana. Nice.

Up next: Hay Day photographs, hopefully tomorrow but perhaps Weds. After that, I’m in book territory for a while, then tweaking the web site and working on back posts. Glad to be busy. As always, thanks for stopping by.
