Hay Day, 2009

Update: Full set posted. More here.

Original post: One of those detours I mentioned a while back was an ad for Hay Day, a mini-festival at the beautiful Hay House mansion in downtown Macon:

Hay Day was today, and I enjoyed the heck out of it.

I didn’t make a big deal, as I’m far enough behind that I only wanted to photograph new folks — yet wound up adding almost four hundred photographs to the collection on this beautiful Spring Saturday.

Couldn’t resist going through them tonight, either. Five stand head-and-shoulders, at least on the first pass, above the rest.

While waiting for me to get to the eighty or so I’ll eventually post, I’m happy to present those favorite five.

…Starting with proof that fun festivities, a warm Spring day, a Sno-Cone, and a precocious smile add up to a happy little girl:

Evidence of Delight

Continuing with a fantastic family — four kids who not only liked Hay Day, but obviously like each other:

Next up is one of those babies that you wind up taking twenty million photos of — okay, like twenty — hoping for one good one.

No complaints on the outcome…:

Baby Blue Eyes

As I was about to pack up, one more family came by. The older daughter, who is twelve or thirteen, was not only cute but completely comfortable in front of the camera — model material if ever I’ve seen:

The Winning (Sno-Cone) Smile

Big props to not only to everyone who posed for a photograph today, but also to the singers who entertained for five hours straight — and, of course, today’s host:

Katey Brown and the Barbershop Quartet

Good day. Enjoy the preview gallery, complete with captions.

Stay tuned for the Easter photographs, then the rest of this gallery, then the filling-in of back items. As always, thanks for stopping by.
