Late, but Good
Mucho behind on blog posts. Apologies. Been incredibly busy the past few weeks, mostly precluding the more “leisurely” activities.
Amongst which — for me, at least — includes blogging. Like I said, sorry.
Most recently, I promised a Maine update soon. Alas, no; try as I could, the sum of those thousands of photographs is less than I’d hoped. Indeed, trying to make those “square-peg” photographs fit into a round hole was one of the things I’ve spent too much time on recently.
So, yes, Maine soon — but not as soon as I’d hoped, and less than planned. But the good ones are good indeed.
In the first venture out locally in weeks, enjoyed a nice Cocktail Hour tonight with a new host: Jennifer Look. Um, look for those photographs this coming weekend.
Meanwhile, very much enjoyed this past weekend in Florida, celebrating my mother’s 76th.
Have to tell you: my perspective may be a generation off, but she seems closer to 66 than 76. The “elderly,” these days, just aren’t:

Pamina Investigates the iPhone
Okay, slight joke there — Pamina is Mom’s cat, and considerably more “elderly” [in cat years, at least —Ed.] than 76, let alone the perceived 66. Yet, she enjoyed playing with the new gadget as much as Mom did. Cool.
Took the camera along to the “celebratory” dinner, and got a couple of typically-Giles shots worthy of mention, including this one:

Euphemia Haye #1 (Steak)
And, dessert:

The Haye Loft’s Raspberry and Chocolate Torte
Nothing like chocolate … in natural light, short depth-of-field, on the fly, in a restaurant, at night. Like I said, typically Giles.

The snapshots post is more than a dozen items long now, and will be put up soon, promise. Also, tonight’s Cocktail Hour, and, eventually Maine. Plus whatever else comes, well, into focus.
As always, thanks for stopping by.
