Photo(s) of the Day
Enjoyed the first Cocktail Hour of the year tonight, courtesy of Dan and Monica — whose ability to draw a crowd remains without parallel. I’d estimate 50+ people, including more than a few new faces.
Welcome.
Meanwhile, got approximately 25 photographs from this first-of-2009 gathering, which will be posted tomorrow. Update: posted. Enjoy.
As a preview, I offer up this, one of my favorites from the set:

Connor, Celebrated
Monica was teaching tonight, and the party at her home started without her. But when she got back from MSC, there were a few minutes of togetherness with her child — and I was glad to catch that, for lack of a better term, “reintroduction.”
Monica and Connor, leading off the first two posts of 2009. (Scroll down.) Well done, to both of you.
That said, I can’t claim the “photo of the day” privilege. IMHO, it’s this:

Don’t know the author, so can’t give appropriate credit.
But talk about surreal!
Kudos to the US Airways pilots, who went home tonight not only having successfully ditched a modern airliner in water — a first, and in the Hudson River, no less (they cleared the George Washington Bridge by 400 feet) — but knowing that every one of their passengers survived. Well effing done.
Probably some other mothers glad to celebrate their children, alive tonight — and pictured right there, on the wing…;)

So is your new years resolution to take more pictures of people instead of things? LOL – more faces in that last gallery than I have ever seen you post! Great work sir – a real pleasure to see you!!

Well, either it was because I know your home well and aren’t as easily distracted by new and/or shiny objects — or it was because I stayed longer than my customary 36 seconds…;)
In any case, thanks. See you Thursday at Kevin and Betsy’s!
