Rose Hill Sunset
Continuing the recent “sunset series,” I spent last Friday evening together with Gerald, wandering around Rose Hill — one of our favorite test areas. While not quite as colorful as the two earlier in the week, it was still a nice evening; we enjoyed the ‘stroll.
Since the locale was so familiar, we resolved to try to look at it from a different point of view. As you can imagine, I’m always willing to practice on that!
Okay, sure, several of the thirty photographs posted are more “traditional.” Most, however, aren’t:

Lettering in Relief
How about a photograph of a tree:

The New Branch
Sometimes, the difference is more about the background than the main subject:

Framed (in Stone)
Other times, it was more surreal:

The Monument Family Enjoys the Sunset
Rose Hill certainly looking … different.
How about a play with the song that went through my head when I was taking this photograph:

Another Brick on the Wall
Or even spying something that, up close, looks like it should be on a board:

Life-Sized Rook
Good time. Thanks, Gerald!
Check all thirty photographs — plus two bonus shots — here. They’re even captioned. Enjoy.
Next up: The morning after this photostroll, I headed up to the Grayson Highland State Park, in Virginia, for a weekend’s hike, then spent a day in Boone, North Carolina. Those are the next two galleries up for posting — stay tuned.
