Kelly and Steve’s Engagement Photographs

Kelly and Steve’s Engagement Photographs

A while back, I donated an hour of photography time to the Crossroads Writers Conference fund raising auction; Kelly and Steve won the bid, and wanted to do a session to celebrate their engagement. (The Crossroads Writers Conference itself is in February, here in Macon.)

We started out in Washington Park, a favorite local playground for photography of all sorts. Not least of which is because of the neat background possibilities:

Including one that has “Christmas card” written all over it:

Great natural light in that one. One of my favorites from the session.

With all the distractions and running around over the past few months, I really enjoyed doing just some straight-up portraits. Didn’t hurt that the couple was in that madly-in-love stage — and showed it:

The shot above is from later in the session, where we were trying to take a photograph with the downtown skyline in the background. As you can see, however, we got fogged out. (It was cold, too — kudos for the short sleeves, Kelly.)

Did manage to sneak a landmark into it, though:

Love that they form a heart shape in the above shot. Awesome.

Another from the mansion grounds, with great fall foliage going in the background.

32 photographs in the posted gallery — more than I expected, and a great time overall. I’m glad to have had the chance to work with this couple, and am looking forward to a sunny day soon to take more!
