Historic Macon at the Telephone Exchange

Historic Macon at the Telephone Exchange

Please note: I’m working backwards, from Friday’s event in downtown Macon, through a friend’s special event last weekend in upstate New York, to the past couple of weeks in Maine — all of which resulted in some great photographs. Despite a going non-stop since getting back, please stay tuned for another post this weekend, then another this coming week. Thanks for checking back.

This week’s Cocktail Hour was, unusually, on a Friday, and was hosted by Historic Macon at the old Telephone Exchange building in downtown Macon.

Okay, I’ve been looking to get into that building for a minute now. You bet I went.

Good stuff. Glad to see another downtown classic celebrated — in my sort of way:

It was hot up there. Folks escaped to the roof or the balcony to cool down. Even after Hank Vegas started playing — as shown through from outside:

A good show, indeed:

Special thanks to this guy, who deserves a call-out for house-sitting my kids cats while I was out and about:

Thank you! Talk soon….
