On Cocktails and Birthdays
Last week not only served up a Cocktail Hour hosted by Creighton (aka the Originator) and Carolyn, but in a Thursday-Friday two-fer, Dan Zook’s 42nd birthday.
I took a very few photographs on Thursday, spending more time chatting with some new folks (as the various school seasons get underway, the new teachers and professors have introduced themselves). A good time, but my favorite photograph is of an oft-seen subject:

ViewMaster 3D
Well, sort of seen — behind that cool 3D thing…;)
Meanwhile, the bigger party was the following night, with Monica and “her man,” Dan Zook. His birthday was Friday:

(The photographs from Dan’s aren’t titled, but do have captions. Once you’re in the gallery, click on any thumbnail to enlarge, or use the slideshow function.)
I only had the camera out for a while, as I was busy making pizza:

Did manage to catch a couple of good birthday moments, including lighting the candles:

And blowing them out:

Nice. Not as good as this one, though:

My favorite of the evening, with Trish and Doug “fronting” for Dan. Great moment, captured.
Fantastic time, everyone — thank you!
Check the six photographs from Thursday’s Cocktail Hour here, and the thirty-three photographs from Friday’s birthday party here.
We’ve covered the “gauntlet” of August birthdays; I’ll have more to say on that subject soon, possibly even combined with that long-lurking shortcuts post. Meanwhile, as always, thanks for stopping by.
Wow Giles – super fun! All this and pizza too – you da man!
