MagTard at Bragg Jam
In keeping with the narrative: as mentioned last time, I rolled back into town — from a great weekend in South Carolina — just in time to catch the last performance of Bragg Jam. Sweet.
Bragg Jam 2009 covered a bunch of venues and dozens if not hundreds of musicians, with an estimated 5,000 attendees overall (according to board president Brad Evans in the mighty Macon Telegraph). I was there for only one performance, though, and had carefully arranged the end of my time out of town around this performance.
…Which was at midnight, the last of the scheduled times, at located at the Rookery, in downtown Macon.
Let’s start with this great guy in the corner:

He was wearing shorts that had V-I-N-N-I-E on one of the legs, no doubt a reminder to me on how to spell. Sorry, man…;)
Also sorry that the next couple actually exclude him; it was tight in there, and my 50mm was too long (something I hadn’t expected). It was also the only lens that I brought, in keeping with the “style” of the previous sets in this series — also shot with the 50mm.
Keep in mind that said “style” also meant no flash. I had one along, but hadn’t used one anywhere else in the series, and really didn’t want to start now. That means short depth-of-field and long exposures, more a “film” look, but something that I think still works well.
Anyway — this great one of Chris belting it out:

Justin’s into it, too, but not as much as Dan. Check that expression!
Back in color, here’s a nice one of (just) Chris and Justin:

Last but not least, a wide shot from upstairs:

14 in all, including a few non-band shots, from that performance. Hope you enjoy as much as everyone there did Saturday — many thanks to Dan, Justin, Vinnie, Chris, the Rookery, and everyone else for a rockin’ time.
Up next: some back items, later in the week. Thanks for checking back.
